8 TOOLS / 1 DATABASE
THE PLATFORM

Eight tools. One spine. Every node you see is real.

The network above is not decoration. Those are our actual tools, orbiting the actual database they all write to. This page is the system drawn honestly.

01 / GENESIS

BIM Genesis is the spine.

For years the tools were separate. Genesis is the layer that brings them together: one platform, talking to one database, Polaris, serving both our team and our clients.

It is the difference between owning a drawer of useful tools and running a system. It is also what turns a service company into a platform company, because the same software that runs our delivery can be opened to the clients and the wider BIM community.

02 / POLARIS

It started as a task monitor. It became the operating system of TBF.

Polaris began in 2019 with a single purpose: track what the team was working on each day. That was the whole brief. Within months it was doing more. Within a year it was doing things we had not planned for. Within three years it had become the connective tissue of the entire company.

No other company uses it. It is built entirely around how TBF works, because no off-the-shelf tool could be made to fit the combination of things we needed in one place. That specificity is also what makes it powerful.

2019
Daily task monitorThe original scope. A simple log of what the team was working on each day, replacing scattered messages and verbal updates.
2020
Hours and workload trackingEstimation data and delivery timelines meant we needed to know who was carrying what. Polaris absorbed it.
2021
Leave requests and HR flowsAnnual leave, time off, request approvals. The HR function needed a home inside the same system the team already used daily.
2022
Procurement and office requestsOrder a mouse pad, a monitor arm, lunch. Anything the team needs is requested, approved, and tracked through Polaris without a separate tool or email chain.
2023
Onboarding and trainingNew staff complete their onboarding entirely inside Polaris. Training materials, role guides, and progress tracking all live here.
2024
TBF AI assistantAsk the AI anything about the company: which tool to use, who to contact, what the process is. It knows TBF because it is trained on TBF.
2025
Tool finder and full integrationPolaris now surfaces the right Revit add-in or Genesis tool for any modeling task. Every part of daily work touches it.
📋

Daily operations

Tasks, hours, workloads, and project status for every person on the team, updated in real time.

🤖

TBF AI

An AI assistant trained on TBF knowledge. Ask it anything about process, tools, contacts, or company policy and get an answer grounded in how we actually work.

🛠️

Tool finder

Describe what you are trying to model and Polaris identifies the right Revit add-in or Genesis tool to use, from a library of 75+.

🛒

Procurement

From a replacement mouse pad to office lunch, every request is logged, approved, and fulfilled through one channel.

🎓

Onboarding and training

New staff complete every step of their onboarding inside Polaris, from first-day guides to role-specific training modules.

📅

Leave and HR

Leave requests, approvals, and entitlement tracking handled end to end without a separate HR system.

03 / THE STACK

What it runs on.

No black boxes. The infrastructure behind Genesis is named, current, and built for an audience that asks how things work.

Data

Polaris DB

The central database. One source of truth for projects, estimates, contracts, and delivery.

Platform

BIM Genesis

The application layer that houses every tool and connects them to Polaris.

Infrastructure

Digital Ocean

Server based services hosting the platform and its tools.

Security

Cloudflare

Protection against external attacks and traffic at the edge.

Intelligence

OpenAI

AI services powering estimation suggestions and query features.

Payments

Stripe

Transactions and the credit system that runs across Genesis.

04 / WHERE THIS GOES

Roadmap, not hype.

These are stated as intent, because they are not shipped yet. We separate what runs today from what is coming.

Near term

Subscription access

Open the Revit toolset and Genesis tools to outside teams on a subscription, turning internal software into a product line.

Near term

Five minute quotes

The target on the chart above. Drive quote turnaround from hours to minutes through deeper Quote Builder and Estimaster automation.

Mid term

AI-assisted estimation

Machine learning trained on TBF project history to suggest estimates and flag risk, with a human reviewer in the loop.

Mid term

BIM Repository marketplace

A premium library where the wider BIM community can buy, share, and contribute components, with Genesis as the storefront.

Exploratory

Blockchain audit trails

For Co-Sign, tamper-evident logs on document approvals where compliance demands it. Scoped as an optional feature, not a core promise.

Exploratory

Workflow automation

Connecting the tools end to end so an estimate flows into a contract, a delivery plan, and an invoice with less manual handoff.
